11 Best Monk Lifestyle Methods Tips You Will Read This Year

Monk Lifestyle

Can a monk lifestyle help you heal from a narcissistic abusive relationship? In this article, I attempt to offer a few monks’ habits and mindsets that I think you will want to implement in your own life.

I often call us empaths, WARRIORS, because we have been through a war that most people NEVER know about or can NEVER understand.

It is well known that living with a narcissist can cause PTSD and many other mental health issues.

They are, in every sense, the living embodiment of war, destruction, and chaos.

It is important to learn how to build up the inner strength and resolve to heal and be READY for all upcoming battles.

This world is rife with legions of negative people who seek to spread as much darkness around the world as possible.

Under any circumstance, we must never give up the light that is in us, and that IS US!

Stay strong, warriors, because the world is in so much need of our light!

What is a monk’s lifestyle?

monk may be a person who decides to dedicate his life to serving all other living beings, or to be an ascetic who voluntarily chooses to leave mainstream society and live his or her life in prayer and contemplation. The concept is ancient and can be seen in many religions and in philosophy. – Wikipedia

1 – Outer De-Cluttering: Helping Others Like You In Need

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”― Charles Dicken

This is something I can attest to. Helping others who have gone through the same insanity, you have been through can do wonders for your healing process.

By saving a person from a narcissistic relationship, it somehow feels as if we saved a bit of ourselves by denying the narcissist a victim to harm for their pleasure.

By helping others and spreading the word about narcissistic people, we slowly shed more light in the world and send these un-evolved beings crawling back into the dark crevices that they crawled out of!

Check out my “This Is Why I Laugh” post. I explain why I started this blog and how to help others — it has also helped me heal in monumental ways!

Life is tough; and if you have the ability to laugh at it, you have the ability to enjoy it. – Salma Hayek

Now, I am NOT saying that what the narcissist and their legions of fools did to you was right.

It wasn’t.

You have every right to cry, be angry, be upset, be frustrated, and be hurt.

But…

Relieving these episodes over and over again serves no one but the narcissist.

They take glee in seeing you broken and hurt LONG AFTER you have separated from them.

Because like the parasites they are, they are happy that the eggs of hopelessness they laid in your mind are finally hatching.

They hurt you, and I know you may feel alone — but you are not!

By learning that ruminating over their insanity only brings them joy is one way to FIGHT BACK and WIN AGAINST THEM by being and working your way to happiness!

3 – The Power Of Meditating Can Do Wonders

“Keep your best wishes, close to your heart and watch what happens”― Tony DeLiso

Taking a few moments in the morning and at night time to clear your mind of any negativity you leave your mind open to all types of positivity!

I find meditation quite therapeutic and helpful to tackle the day ahead of me with eagerness and openness!

This is a great way to stop rumination as you learn how to control your thoughts and thus stop ruminating ideas to continue to fester in your mind!

4 – Following The Wise ~ Reading The Stories Of Others Who Have Overcome ~ Monk Lifestyle

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to reform (or pause and reflect).”― Mark Twain

In times where you feel like you are the only one who has been duped by a narcissist, I believe it salient to read the lives of others who have lost SO MUCH.

People like Viktor Frankl lived through the Holocaust and came out of the Holocaust with his psyche and heart still intact.

That is powerful!

People like Nelson Mandela, who was locked up in prison for 27 years and had not his spirit broken.

That is powerful.

People like Helen Keller, who was blind, deaf, and dumb, would become one of her leading intellectuals.

That is powerful.

Hard times are not here to destroy us…but to transform us!

Buy Viktor Frankl’s “Man’s Search For Meaning“, Nelson Mandela’s “Long Walk To Freedom“, Helen Keller “The Story of My Life“.

5 – Listen To Your Inner Monologue and UNDERSTAND IT

“You have power over your mind – not outside events.”

That inner voice that screams out at you in hatred and anger is but your inner child who has been hurt and cries out to you for you to hear it and heal it.

It can be challenging — listening to those voices because they lash out at us, asking us:

“Why did you ignore the red flags. They hurt us!”

‘Why were you so stupid to not see the games they were playing.”

“How could you have put up with them for so long?”

“This is why no one loves us!”

It is one of the hardest things to do, to listen to our inner voices, but in listening to them, we can understand their hatred and slowly start to quell that anger!

6 – Change Always Comes ~ Monk Lifestyle

“The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude” – Oprah

No matter how bad it was, it can always get better by merely changing the way you think, along with your attitude.

Yes, easier said than down.

But sooner or later, maybe a month from now, a year from now, or perhaps a decade from now — that feeling of being sick and tired of being sick and tired is going to go away!

Time heals all wounds, even the emotional ones (as long as you work on healing them)!

7 – All You Have Is This Ever Present Moment

The past and the future do not exist. All you/we have is this MOMENT. This ever-present moment.

We cannot change you we were, but we can change who we will become by changing who we are.

The negative people in life were not the end of our life, but merely a lesson to show you what NOT to be and what you CAN BE!

8 – Focus On A Better Life ~ Monk Lifestyle

“The best revenge is massive success.”― Frank Sinatra

I do believe that the greatest revenge is MASSIVE SUCCESS! It is becoming what they never wanted you to become despite all the NONSENSE they put you through.

By working to become that massive success, that happy person, that exceptional being, you destroy any sense of power they thought they had over you!

I wrote an article title “You Weren’t Suppose To Be Happy,” and I write out what goes on in the lunatic minds of narcissistic people!

9 – Give Your Life Everything You Got

Whatever you do, give it you’re all!

There are NO REDOES in life. You don’t get to the end of this life and say, “Hey, I still have a few more goals and dreams I want to accomplish. Can I have a bit more time?”

That is not how life works.

We get one shot at life; GIVE IT YOUR ALL!

10 – Let Go Of Things You Cannot Control

Photo by Sarbajit Sen on Pexels.com

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

What has happened…happened.

It wasn’t right or fair — but,

We can’t change the past.

Stop spending so much energy on things that you can’t change.

11 – Forgive Yourself…You Are Only Human

We are only humans.

Struggling With C-PTSD?

I often say that living with a narcissist is like living in a war zone! This comparison may very well seem hyperbolic, but research has shown that living around narcissists can have the same effects on a person’s mind as people living in a war zone!

I wrote an article describing the “10+ Mental Illnesses Caused By Staying With Narcissists“.

These people are monsters, plain and simple.

If you are struggling with emotional flashbacks, dealing with mental and emotional battles that NO ONE but yourself seems to see and feel, and if you find it hard to get out of bed every day, you may be dealing with C-PTSD.

As great as support groups may be, or as profound as articles can be, they are no substitute for professional help.

Sometimes the best way to heal and move forward is with therapy.

Speaking with someone and getting the hurt off your chest is a great way to unload.

Online Therapy is a site that offers visitors the chance to speak with professional therapists who will be able to help you get through your emotional and psychological battles.
