Honoring A Hero: A Message To Those Who Feel Broken
“Good and Evil are partners in the drive that is life. Without that union, a man is just barely capable of sentient awareness.” – Magus from The Infinity War Issue #6, Marvel Comics
I am a huge comic book geek. I am in the dawn of my 30s and do not see myself ever NOT collecting comic books!
What I love about comics and this medium of entertainment are the stories of Good and Evil.
I love seeing my heroes in my comics deal with outrageous situations and overcoming them!
I love how the heroes don’t always win every battle they fight, but they never STOP TRYING TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!
Heroism is something to be admired.
And it is a trait that very few people can ever truly know or experience.
The thing about comics and superheroes is that many of our favorite superheroes were created because of tragedy.
Honoring A Hero: You Are A Hero
Almost every superhero you come across became a hero because of a tragedy that came into their lives!
Be that Spiderman who lost his Uncle Ben due to his poor actions.
To Superman, who lost his parents, family, and world due to a planetary explosion!
Or be that Batman (My FAVORITE SUPERHERO), who lost his parents and his world to some “punk with a gun” at the young age of 8!
Tragedy and loss are what created these amazing Superheroes.
When we look across other mediums, we see that it was the trials and tribulations that made Hercules one of the most famous and powerful demigods of antiquity!
When we look at real-life models, it was Injustice that imprisoned a young Nelson Mandela but freed and liberated Nelson Mandela of old who would change a generation.
Tragedy…is what HEROES are made from!
We are not victims; we are heroes!
I often write how words, what we say to ourselves, influence how we feel about ourselves, and how we perceive the world. Victims live through the medium of fear!
They live through, what I deem, HELL ON EARTH!
Day in and day out, living in fear, walking on eggshells, feeling afraid at every waking moment.
This is NO WAY TO LIVE!
Narcissists, the dark souls they are, love when they can strip the light from people. It makes these dark souls feel as if they have the power to change the reality around them.
And to an egomaniac, this is what they would feel like is Nirvana, creating hell for others to live in.
They genuinely are psychopaths!
Which is why…we must be HEROES.
Don’t Let Their Darkness Wipe Out Your Light: Honoring A Hero
“Can You not Already Feel My Dark Will Overwhelming Your Meager Efforts, Warlock?” – Magus from The Infinity War Issue #6, Marvel Comics
Narcissists, along with their legion of fools, are truly villainous evil creatures that walk among us as human beings.
And as cynical a statement this may sound like, anyone who has dealt with a narc knows how scary and disturbing it can be to see what they look like once their mask has fallen.
Fear to these body snatchers is their sustenance.
When we say that we are victims, what we tell the narc is that YOU HURT ME BEYOND HEALING.
When we say that we are survivors, we tell them that they put us through a hell that we were LUCKY, NOT strong enough, to escape.
And when we reach out to the common buffoon individual and explain what the narcissist put us through, we just appear crazy!
“You are just being overdramatic!”
These people THRIVE on controlling our reality. They thrive on driving us insane.
And most importantly, they thrive on making us feel…HELPLESS.
Nothing makes Lex Luthor happier than knowing that Superman (A god) is beneath him.
Nothing riles up Darkseid than knowing he can have total control over people’s free-will.
And nothing makes the LOSER JOKER (he is the typical narcissistic person in life, that is why he is so famous — people can see themselves through him) happier than to drive Batman angry and insane. He will do anything to get his attention.
We Are Not Helpless…We Are All The Help We Will Ever Need: Honoring A Hero
“What I Sense Is The Empty Clang Of Words Without Conviction To Give Them Mass, Magus.” – Adam Warlock from The Infinity War Issue #6, Marvel Comics
What life has taught me is…
It is to have your back against the wall and to have NO WAY OUT…BUT FORWARD!
It is to fight in a ring all by yourself and having no one in your corner. Yet you still brave the fight alone. LIKE A TRUE CHAMPION!
It is get knocked down time and time again, but you PULL YOURSELF UP BY THE BOOTSTRAP because you refuse to allow others to keep you down.
It is to be a hero to yourself when everyone else around you is a villain and trying to convince you that YOU are the villain!
To be a hero means to be alone. To be a hero means to be misunderstood. And to be a hero is what YOU ARE.
But you don’t see it yet, because you or others have convinced you that you are a victim.
And because you are a victim…you NEED someone to come swooping in to save you!
And it is this way of thinking that is keeping you from healing!
We Are NOT Victims…We Are Heroes
“Corruption Such As Yours Will Never Summon The Inner Resources Needed To Overcome Its Own Base Nature.” – Adam Warlock from The Infinity War Issue #6, Marvel Comics
We must learn how to see ourselves as heroes in our story called life. And all great stories of great heroes throughout history have their heroes going through hard times.
Hard times that would break ordinary people!
We are not survivors.
As to survive means to get by and life — and I honestly believe that we should not JUST GET BY with this one life we have; we should thrive!
We are not victims.
As to be a victim, AFTER LEAVING THE NARCISSIST still means that they have their demonic claws into us.
We are not crazy.
As we are the ones, who see the world for what it is. It may hurt your eyes right now to see how nasty the world is, but that is because we have been wearing rose-tinted glasses.
Much like NEO from “The Matrix” (The Greatest Movie Ever) whose eyes were hurt after he left “The Matrix“, told by Morpheus, the reason his eyes hurt is that he “never used them before” — so too are you just using your eyes for the first time.
And seeing how insane, unjust, immature, and irrational the world is…HURTS!
WE/YOU ARE HEROES!
And like the heroes we are, we will overcome!
Heroes are born through trials and tribulations.
Heroes are forged through the fires of insanity and tragedy!
And heroes are those who EVIL SEEK OUT.
Let me repeat that.
Heroes are those who EVIL SEEKS OUT.
It is our light that creatures of dark souls want to eradicate.
They want to eradicate our light so they can keep doing their dirt in the dark.
They are scared that our light will reveal to others but also to themselves, what they are.
Evil does not want others to see how hideous is in the light of others!
See yourself as a superhero with your story of OVERCOMING being the inspiration for others going through what you have been through.
See the flying monkeys as henchmen and goons. They are just extra characters for you to showcase how amazing you are. What you have overcome!
See the narcissists in your life as the villain, which they are.
If you are looking for a hero to save you from the sadness, from the loneliness, from the hurt, from the pain, from the humiliation, from the suffering, and from the anger — then the only place you need look…
IS IN THE MIRROR!
You are not a victim; you are a hero. Embrace the tragedy because that is what heroes are made from!
No Shame In Therapy
Narcissistic people can do a wonder on someone’s mind and psychology. In fact, I wrote an article called “10+ Mental Illnesses Caused By Staying With A Narcissists“.
The narcissists and their legion of fools can slowly drive you insane. And sometimes the best help you can ever receive is from a stranger.
When everyone around you is trying to convince you that YOU are the bad person, sometimes an objective view of you from someone you don’t know maybe what saves you from drowning in the sea of insanity the narc and their legion of fools try and drown you in.
Therapy can help heal in ways that reading blogs, listening to videos, and talking with other WARRIORS (we are not survivors, we are warriors) can ever do.
Join my Facebook Fan Page “No Shame In Therapy” to get a 20% discount on your first-month session, as well as articles and updates on the benefits of therapy.
Narcs have a legion of fools behind them to hurt you, I think it would be a good thing to build your own army of warriors and allies to help stand by your side.
