Nobody Can Save You But Yourself

Shift your “Locus of Control” inward. Everything that you need to heal, to grow, to recover, to move forward in life, and to be happy again is inside of you.

If the narc has taught you/us anything, it is this.

That there are nasty people out there in the world who want the worst for you/us.

And the onus of us being happy, successful, and safe in life bears on our shoulders.

No matter how broken you feel, no matter how hurt you feel, and no matter how destroyed you may feel…YOU ALONE have everything within yourself to heal.

Stop waiting for the narc to apologize because it will never come.

Stop waiting for the flying monkeys to wake up and see that they are being used.

And stop waiting for someone knight in shining armor to come in and rescue you from the insanity.

The world, as Eric Fromm wrote in his fantastic book “The Sane Society,” is not sane at all.

Be your hero and savior.

Because no one and this is not a sad realization but a powerful realization, will come to rescue you.

Only you can do that.

“Nobody can save you but
You will be put again and again
into nearly impossible
They will attempt again and again
through subterfuge, guise and
to make you submit, quit and/or die quietly

Nobody can save you but
and it will be easy enough to fail
so very easily
but don’t, don’t, don’t.
Just watch them.
Listen to them.
Do you want to be like that?
A faceless, mindless, heartless
Do you want to experience
death before death?

Nobody can save you but
and you’re worth saving.
It’s a war not easily won
but if anything is worth winning then
this is it.

Think about it.
Think about saving your self.” ― Charles Bukowski

About Author

I call myself the Rational Humorist. Narcs to me are cancer to humanity. The only way to beat cancer is to fight back against it.

The best way to defeat a narc is to see them as the jokes they are.
