10 – Gayle (Bob’s Burger): TV Fictional Narcissists

TV Fictional Narcissists

Bob’s Burger took some time for the characters to grow on the viewers.

Well, at least it did for me. Initially, the characters felt very bland and very “forced” in regards to trying to get a laugh.

However, as the show started to find its voice, the character began to grow on me.

In this show, Gayle, Lin’s Sister, is, without a doubt, a narcissist.

She is not the classical narcissist type. Nor is she high up in the narcissistic ranking.

However, I would consider her more of a covert narc.

She seeks to have everything that her sister wants and even tried to take Bob (Lin’s Husband…HER SISTER’S HUSBAND) away from her on one episode.

Some fans may chock it up to her just being insecure and needy.

But please read my “Narcs Need Our Attention” article.

Yes, she may be insecure and needy, but that is EXACTLY what narcs are.

The fact that she can try and steal her SISTER’S HUSBAND is a clear sign that she isn’t really a good person.

Being needy and insecure is NOT an excuse for trying to steal your sister’s husband.

  1. I’ll mention a few. Some Animated Disney Villains like Scar, Dr. Facilier the Shadow Man, Frollo and his Hellfire song “choose me or you will burn”, Queen from Snow White, Cinderellas Stepmom from hell, Gaston who loves being superior and smear campaigns Bells father.

Jerry from Rick and Morty is 100% covert narc loser!

But the one Narc that is my all time personal favorite is the classic Narc, Luke Valentine from Hellsing Ultimate / Hellsing OVA.

You see, Luke thought he was perfect. He thought he was top dog. “I have all your powers and MORE!”. But his opponent Alucard is on another level when he starts releasing his restriction levels.

This character shines both in the original work as well as the Team Four Star Hellsing Abridged version. The abridged version is downright hilarious.

And Luke totally gets what he deserves. If you like Laughing at Narcs, you’re gonna love what you see…
